CATHY ROWLEY began the studio 19 years ago. The first classes were held in her garage. The studio has grown from its humble beginnings to the mega performing arts center it is today. Cathy has performed and toured throughout the Southwest and Hawaiian Islands. She danced at Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland on her winter and summer breaks from college. She has modeled and done commercials for Catalina Swimwear, Pledge, and Carpets to Go, along with choreographing for Jungle Rags Children's Clothing. Cathy has taught for Christian Youth Theatre and has been involved with the city of Temecula dance program for over 10 years. Cathy feels privileged to have a successful studio in an area where parents sincerely care about their children.
HEATHER DALE graduated with honors from UCSD with a BA in Dance in the spring of 2004 after transferring from Palomar College in San Marcos and was pleased to perform for numerous choreographers on both campuses. She has since been teaching, dancing, and choreographing all over southern California. Heather has been fortunate enough to train with some of the most talented artists in the area including Patricia Rincon, Jean Isaacs, Tony Caligagan, Faith Jensen-Ismay, Katie McIver, Kevin Herman, Sue Gilson, Judy Sharp, and Molly Faulkner among many others. She teaches regularly at Temecula Valley Cathy's Dance and Dance FX , Inc. in San Marcos where she has created many award-winning dances and has also set work for various high school teams and productions throughout Southern California. Heather has enjoys dancing regularly in industrial shows for Heat wave Productions under the direction of Tony Caligagan and also working with Joey Doucette Entertainment out of Las Vegas, Nevada. She has also performed as a guest artist for Patricia Rincon Dance Collective and Mojalet Dance Collective as well as teaching at the Southwest Dance, Movement, and Acro-Sports Workshop in Palm Springs this year for the fifth time in a row. Heather was honored to spend the summer of 2005 in Konstanz, Germany teaching and taking class at the Czerner Dance Academy and has been encouraged to return along with members of her new dance ensemble Opus Mixtus Post Jazz to present working a collaborative show. Heather performed in San Diego Dance Theater's 2006 'Trolley Dances' under the direction of Jean Isaacs and famed New York choreographer Monica Bill- Barnes. She has performed as a guest artist with Patricia Rincon Dance Collective, d'shire Dance Core, and various performances with Mojalet Dance Collective, including 2007 southern California tour of 'rhythmic talk' In 2006 Heather founded her professional dance ensemble, OPUS MIXTUS Post Jazz (www.opusmixtus.org) and has been developing her dancers and new works ever since. Heather has recently been asked to present her choreography and company dancers in multiple professional performances and festivals throughout Southern California for the 2009-2010 dance season. She travels to Los Angeles regularly to continue her dance training at the prestigious EDGE performing Arts Center and hopes to pursue her Masters of Fine Arts in Choreography and Dance Performance in the near future. Heather Has recently had the honor of being asked to teach other professional and pre-professional dancers at the Academy of Performing Arts, San Diego's Leading Professional Dance Studio and she also became a certified personal trainer in March. As her performance opportunities and learning experiences continue to multiply, Heather is glad to be able to share her knowledge with her hard working dancers at TVCD!

 

 

ANJELICA WILSON "JELI" took her first lessons in ballet, tap and jazz at the age of three and immediately fell in love. She started competing in statewide dance and gymnastics competitions at the age of six and then nationwide competition after. Jeli trained vigorously at Oceanside Dance Academy under the direction of her mother Jocelyn K. Wilson and instruction of Theo Ivey. Jeli is excited to share her passion for dance with her students at TVCD and hopes to continuously inspire for years to come.

     
DRE TAYLOR

icknamed “Super Dre” for his unique style and ability to pick up any genre of dancing, Keondre “Dre” Taylor started his dance training at Cathy's Dance Studio at 11 years old taking tap and later showed interest in hip- hop style. In the summer of 2006 he received a partial scholarship for the Debbie Allen Summer Hip Hop Intensive.   It was also during this summer that Dre competed in the World Hip Hop Championships, taking 10th in the U.S.  

 

While you can find Dre dancing on stage, you can also look for him on the big screen. Dre has been seen on commercials and T.V shows, including Criminal Minds & CBS’ Dance Revolution.   Dre is currently a second year captain on the Chaparral High School Advanced Dance Team and is Director/Captain of  Agi*lity.  He is also the founder & director of RESURRECT, an all female hip-hop team in Temecula, CA.  Dre enjoys sharing his creative ideas with others and guiding dancers in the development of their own dance styles. 

 

Dre has trained under numerous Hip hop instructors from Southern California including Wade Robson, Dave Scott, and krump dancing phenomenon Lil’ C.  He decided to further expand his range of dancing by training under highly respected choreographer, Tessandra Chavez on her Company, Unity Dance Ensemble, a professional dance team out of San Diego that Specializes in mastering and fusing the styles of jazz, ballet, modern, and hip hop all in one. 

 

Dre currently dances on a professional all-male hip hop team out of San Diego, Ca called Formality; a team that has held the prestigious title of World Hip Hop Champions.  Dre is excited to be teaching at Cathy's Dance Studio, and looks forward to seeing growth and development in all of his students, and the Hip Hop program.

 

RACHEL SWINSON (Ballet Director) received her training at Inland Dance Academy , American Ballet Theatre and San Francisco Ballet School . She has danced in the Nutcracker, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Paquita and Cinderella performing lead roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen, Aurora and Cinderella. Rachel performed as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet in spring 2007 and performs as a soloist dancer with the Crystal Cathedral in the Glory of Easter and Glory of Christmas. Rachel has been choreographing for shows for over seven years. Some of her work includes; Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Moulin Rouge, Grease, Chicago , Cinderella and this year's production of Firebird. Rachel has developed the Temecula Valley Ballet Academy where she will be setting even high standards of training for her staff and students.


 

NATALIA MORALES is a graduate from Cal State Fullerton with a B.A in dance and a Masters in Education with an emphasis in dance from CSUN. Natalia is well versed in Teaching, Choreographing and performing. Natalia has performed in various shows such as MTV 2003 Movie Awards, The Super Bowl, and the Lakers Fiesta Party just to name a few. She has choreographed for many rising rap artists here in the U.S. and pop artist from Europe . Natalia teaches Ballet, Jazz, Turns & Leaps Hip-Hop and Pilates, as well as strength and conditioning for dancers. She has taught at many professional studios such as The Athletic Garage in Pasadena , Millennium in North Hollywood and most recently was the first instructor in California to teach a transferrable course in Hip-Hop at the College level. Along with teaching here at TVCD Natalia enjoys at MSJC Menifee Campus.

     
JULIE HODGE has been dancing for 24 years, including ballet and Pointe training with Ballet Pacifica. She has participated in workshops with New York City Dance Alliance, LA Dance Force and the Jazz World Congress. Julie went to Palomar College for 4 years and participated in the dance program. During her last year there Julie was awarded "Dancer of the Year" for 2003. Julie has also got the chance to perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker in 2003. Julie has been teaching at TVCD for 12 years, and enjoys working with the kids. Besides teaching, Julie dances for Opus Mixtus Dance Ensemble, and enjoys working for Heather Dale.  Julie has a two year old son whom dances around the house, so we know we have a future student. We give special thanks to Julie's Husband Brad Hodge for designing our new website!

 

KELLEY-ROSE MUND has been dancing for nineteen years. She has been teaching at Cathy's Dance for the past seven years. Kelley has performed as a dancer in the Calico Country Jubilee' at Knott's Berry Farm, and has won numerous platinum awards in her competitive history. Her choreography has been applauded with many high score and top overall awards. Kelley has been enjoying choreographing for numerous musicals in the community. Some of her credits include: Alice in Wonderland (City of Temecula 2009), Willy Wonka Jr. (Vail Ranch Middle School 2008), Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs (Christian Youth Theatre 2007), and Show Choir (Margarita Middle School 2006).  She has been a guest choreographer for Temecula Performing Arts Company for Willy Wonka Jr., Alice in Wonderland and Oliver. She recently got married to a wonderful man, Aaron Mund. Kelley would like to say a special thank you to God, her family and everyone that has supported her in her adventures. Thank you to the amazing staff and students at TVCD!

 

BROOKE MORRIS-HOPKINS has been teaching tap & jazz all over San Diego County and Temecula for ten years. Brooke has been involved with musical theater since the age of 8, and has acted in over twenty live theater productions, and enjoys being on stage. She has competed in tap since the age of 9 and has won several National Championships, both as a soloist and as a duet with her favorite dance partner Richard Jennings, who is currently living in Europe . This summer come see Miss Brooke in the up and coming production of 'Let Freedom Ring' come see her tap, sing, and act all on the SS midway in San Diego! Brooke would like to thank her biggest supporter, her family for all they have done for her.

 

LARISSA RICE has been teaching dance locally for 5 years and has performed throughout Riverside County. She has studied dance at Idyllwild School of Performing Arts, Ballet Petite in Pasadena, and was a member of the Belmont University dance team in Nashville, Tennessee. Larissa continues to grow as a teacher and choreographer while attending Tremaine Dance Conventions. Currently she instructs the middle school dance program at St. Jeanne School, and choreographed the St. Jeanne 'nutcracker' in December.She holds a Bachelors of Art degree with an emphasis in Child Development, and continues to perform and choreograph throughout southern California. Her television appearances include K & B Infomercials, dancing on television's 'Tele-Mundo, 'So You Think You Can Dance', 'Orange County ', and just recently finished filming the title roll in 'State-Line' Music Video. Larissa is thrilled to be apart of the staff at TVCD where the love and passion for dance gleams and grows in all ages.

     
HEATHER PAGE has been dancing for ten years and is a sixth-year instructor here at Cathy's Dance. In her ten years of dancing, she has danced and performed on many school and studio teams including star teams here at TVCD. At the age of 11 she became highly involved with school dance programs where she began her dance training, and found a love and passion for dance. In high school Heather was a performer and main choreographer for EHS Dance Production as well as an assistant for the beginning level classes, which lead her to receive a varsity letter in dance with the highest amount of points in her class during her junior year of high school. She has advanced training from various studios in jazz, lyrical and ballet. In addition, Heather has been one of two assistant directors for the X-O Thermix Dance Team for five years and has been teaching at local schools for seven years where she has choreographed many regional, state and national championship winning routines. Her routines have won numerous platinum and high score awards. Heather recently got nominated with two routines for Best choreography at National Finals in Las Vegas.


 

KRIZZA LEIGH RUIZ (Star Team Coordinator) has been dancing for the past ten years and has trained in various styles and techniques. In high school Krizza began competing competitively and became a freelance dancer performing for special occasion events. She then continued dancing at Mt. San Jacinto dance department where she has been showcased in college student/faculty performances for the past two years. Currently Krizza is training under the direction of Heather Dales Company Opus Mixtus Post Jazz. Krizza is a full time student at Cal State San Marcos studying towards her nursing degree to become a nurse practitioner. She is pleased to find the time and balance dancing and working with all the students, teachers and staff at the studio!



 

HOLLY DAVIDSON has been a part of everything including Dance, Cheer, Horse Back riding and Gymnastics from a young age. Holly excelled in dance and trained with Nancy Caldwell on of the twelve original Musketeers. She performed with Rosie Perez and Paula Abdul at the age of ten in Las Vegas . Holly was cast in the Sound of Music at the Lawrence Welk resort as Gretel. She has also performed in plays at Brengel Terrace Park such as Gypsy, Wizard of Oz and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Holly Graduated from San Diego state with a degree in Marketing and started her own company, action management. Her company produces major motion pictures.

KRISTIN HERRON has been dancing for over fifteen years. Kristin has trained with many high level dance schools including Anaheim Ballet and Millennium Dance Complex. In 2007 Kristin graduated with her BA in Dance from Chapman University and is a certified Pilates Instructor. She has worked with several high level competitive all star dance teams in Orange County, Huntington Beach and Fullerton. Kristin was a featured Rockette for Century 21. She has also danced for Dan Collins at American Celebration (2004),Richard Nixon's Library(1997) and John Wayne's House (1989). Kristin is very proud of all her students and enjoys teaching at TVCD.
     
DONNA MEANS KING is accredited with the Irish Dance Commission, Dublin, Ireland, as a certified Irish dance teacher and adjudicator, She is a retired undefeated champion of California, the Western US, and Western Canada. Donna enjoys teaching at Cathy's Dance on Mondays, and hopes to see some new faces into the new season.
Paul Ross spent most of his childhood living in Okinawa, Japan before moving to San Diego, CA in middle school, and finally ending up in Temecula, Ca in his sophomore year of high school. This is where he first discovered dance  as a hobby. As a junior, he joined his high school's all male dance team and became captain. He auditioned for Formality (EKetc), a professional all male dance company in 2006 under the direction of Erik Saradpon. In 2007, he was invited to join EKetc's newly formed co-ed team "Mass Appeal" directed by Phillip Geniza. Dancing with Formality & Mass Appeal is where Paul's passion for dance truly came to life. He was (and still is) humbled by his teammates and directors, and it has pushed him to challenge himself physically, mentally, and creatively. Paul has performed at various competitions nation wide. In July 2009, Paul was signed as a new talent with Clear Talent Group  (CTG). Since signing with CTG  he  has appeared in a music video for UK's "X-Factor" winner Alexandra Burke's new single "Bad Boys" featuring Flo-Rida. Paul has also traveled to the Bahamas to film a commercial for the Atlantis Resort. Paul Ross passion turned into a reality because of his drive and determination he has  studied  under some of the best hip hop choreographers around the world.Paul is looking forward in sharing his passion and talent with the hip hop program at Temecula Valley Cathy's Dance.
